The best way to explain it is using a "blog" (or "weB LOG") as an example. A blog is simply a journal or diary that is easy for its owner to update online with no specialist knowledge...
Let's have a look in pictures - it will make more sense: |
First lets look at an example of a blog (click on the picture for a larger one you can actually read!) The blog entries show news events at KV such as the latest photoset. On the right hand side of the screen you will see a some small buttons which are the "syndication" links. (These are similar to the ones you can see at the top of this page) Clicking on one of these adds the "feed" to either "My Google" or "My Yahoo" for example.
So what does that look like?
Well lets say that your homepage is "My Google". If you haven't already added anything to it, it will come with a basic set of news, weather etc. To add the KV "feed", use the "add content" feature of Google then "add by URL" and enter http://www.kinkyvoluptuous.com/news.xml as the URL.
Done! - But there's an even easier way...use the buttons above!

Notice how the syndicated sites get a "digest" of summary of the headlines - clicking on the item of interest than goes to the full article on KV with all the graphics and layout. Every time you visit your homepage after a KV update has been made, you will see the details - its all automatic! |

The more inquisitive may wonder how that's done - but that's a story for another day, unless you are a webmaster or blogger...(and want to earn cash by promoting KV's own affiliate program!) |
